Freshman Students

A "freshman"is a student who has not attended college or earned enough credits to be classified as a Sophomore.

To qualify for admission, a candidate must submit the following to the Office of Admissions:

  1. Signed and completed application for admission  (application.pdf)
  2. Application fee of $25.00 non-refundable. Only check or money order made payable to Talladega College.
  3. OFFICIAL high school Transcript sent directly by the accredited high school and reflecting at least 22 units of work
  4. OFFICIAL score report on either the ACT or SAT
  5. Personal essay
  6. Medical record form (provided by the Office of Admissions) completed by the applicant and a physician
  7. Letter of recommendation from a high school principal, teacher, guidance counselor or others.

Transfer Students

A student who has attended another college and who may seek admission to Talladega College with advance standing.

Applicants with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) at another accredited college and who are in good financial and disciplinary standing at that institution are eligible for admission to Talladega College.  Transfer credit is given for any course in which the applicant has earned a grade of C or better.  Courses graded on a pass/fail basis are not accepted. Only credit hours, not grade point averages, are transferable.  Transfer student applications are considered on a case-by-case basis.

To be eligible for transfer, a candidate must submit the following to the Office of Admissions:

  1. Signed and completed application for admission (application.pdf)
  2. Application fee of $25.00 non-refundable. Check or money order made payable to Talladega College.
  3. OFFICIAL transcript from all accredited colleges or universities
  4. Personal essay
  5. Letter of recommendation  from an instructor, professor, and/or academic advisor

Specific responses to transcripts of transferring students are made by the Registrar or the Office of Academic Affairs, as the case may warrant at the time of submission of transcript.  Before a classification is assigned, the transfer student may be required to take placement exams in the core courses.
